Human Milk Connection Foundation is a 501c3 organization whose goal is to raise funds to help make the acquisition of Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM) more affordable and accessible in the state of California, and to educate on the benefits of using human milk.

Announcement:

A Heartfelt Farewell from the Human Milk Connection Foundation

To Our Valued Community, Donors, and Partners,

It is with a mix of heavy hearts and immense pride in our shared mission that we share some important news regarding the future of our organization. After five years of working together to ensure “Every Baby, Every Drop, Every Chance,” the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to conclude the Human Milk Connection Foundation’s operations, effective July 1, 2026.

Our Shared Impact

We founded this organization with a clear vision: that Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM) should never be a luxury reserved for a few, but a reliable bridge for every infant in need. Whether supporting a micro-preemie in the NICU, a baby joining a family through adoption, or a family facing a temporary supply gap, your support ensured these infants received the best possible start in life.
Because of your dedication over the last five years, we have successfully:
  • Provided Critical Grant Funding: We delivered essential financial support to our partners at Mothers’ Milk Bank California, directly subsidizing the cost of milk for families who otherwise could not afford this life-saving resource.
  • Championed Awareness: We led local and statewide initiatives to normalize donor milk as a vital community resource and educated people and medical organizations on the health benefits of human milk.

The Path Forward

While our foundation’s formal operations are coming to a close, the need for donor milk remains critical. To ensure our legacy of care continues, all remaining foundational funds will be transitioned to Mothers’ Milk Bank California to support their ongoing charitable care programs.
We encourage our community to remain active advocates for this cause. You can continue to make a difference by:
  • Donating Milk: If you or someone you know has a surplus supply, please consider becoming a donor through a certified milk bank.
  • Financial Contributions: Direct future donations to Mothers’ Milk Bank California or UC Health Milk Bank California to help maintain their financial assistance programs for families in need.
  • Advocacy: Continue to share the importance of PDHM within your local community and healthcare networks.

A Final Thank You

We are forever grateful to the donors and our community partners we had the pleasure of working with. We learned a lot along the way and feel honored to have had the privilege of helping play a small part in building a stronger, healthier foundation for the next generation.

With deepest gratitude,
The Board of Directors
